Frequently Asked Questions

Why mobile dog grooming?

We bring the salon to you! Our custom grooming van is fully equipped to groom your dog right outside your home, workplace, or event—saving you time and reducing stress for your pet.

What are the benefits of mobile grooming vs. a traditional salon?

  • Convenience – No drop-offs or pickups. We come to you.

  • Less stress – One-on-one attention in a quiet, controlled environment.

  • Cleaner & safer – No exposure to other animals or unknown spaces.

  • Faster service – Most appointments are completed faster than in a salon.

Where do you operate?

Between Sweetwater to Knoxville and surrounding Tennessee communities. Contact us to confirm service availability in your area!

How do I book an appointment?

Email hello@sniffandhowl.com or call/text 865-358-8252. New clients should submit their registration at sniffandhowl.com/register to get established.

Do I need to be home during the appointment?

In most cases, yes—especially for first-time appointments. Once trust is established, many clients choose to leave a key, use a garage code, or have their pup outside ready for us.

How long does grooming take?

Most appointments take 1.5 - 2.5 hours, depending on the service, dog’s breed, coat condition, and behavior. Puppies, seniors, or double-coated dogs may take a bit longer.

What’s included?

Our full-service grooming includes:

  • Warm bath with premium products

  • Blow dry

  • Brush-out

  • Nail trim and file

  • Ear cleaning

  • Sanitary trim

  • Breed-specific or custom haircut (if requested)

We also offer bath-only options, deshedding treatments, teeth brushing, and flea baths.

Do you groom large or double-coated dogs?

Yes! We groom dogs of all sizes and coat types, though extra fees may apply for time or coat condition. If your dog sheds a lot, ask about our deshedding add-on. Please note: Working farm dogs can take 4-6 hours and we only accept one per day, with pricing to reflect the amount of work.

Do you require vaccinations?

For the safety of all pets and our team, dogs must be up-to-date on the rabies vaccine and are strongly encouraged to have core vaccines (distemper/parvo & bordetella).

How often should I have my dog groomed?

Every 4–6 weeks is ideal, depending on breed, coat type, and lifestyle. We offer recurring appointments to keep your pup looking and feeling their best.

Can you just do a nail trim?

Absolutely. We offer standalone nail trim services and often set up in neighborhoods or events for walk-up nail trims.

Do you use crate drying or keep dogs waiting?

No. We provide one-on-one attention from start to finish. Your dog is never crated, left alone, or rotated between other clients.

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept credit/debit cards, cash, and Venmo. Payment due at time of service.

What if my dog is anxious or doesn’t like grooming?

We specialize in gentle, low-stress handling and take our time to help your dog feel safe. If your dog is aggressive or has special needs, let us know in advance so we can plan appropriately.

Are you insured?

Yes! Sniff & Howl is fully insured for your peace of mind and your pet’s safety.

How far in advance should I book?

Appointments book quickly. We recommend a recurring 4-6 week schedule to secure your spot. Otherwise, there may be a 1-2 week waiting period.
